You’re right about your conclusion that today’s churches have exchanged God’s word for a different gospel. When I was younger, I was taught the great apostasy, or falling away, would be when there are only a few people attending church. Now I believe the great apostasy is occurring within the so-called “Christian” churches themselves, especially the mega-churches.

I agree what we are seeing is unprecedented and not matched by another time in the history of the Church age. My first encounter with Contemplative Spirituality in a church which I considered safe really shook me. But I really knew this had to be the end result because God’s Word was not honored nor Him respected through the Word.
The mega-me organizations certainly fit the 2 Timothy: 1-9 warning. This scripture really speaks to our time.
For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these.
For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses, 2 Tim 3:3-6
Do you feel good? Now that you have driven away 2 Mormons from your house, man? That put a huge dent in the church by the way. Not! The work will go on. An you can not stop it. =)
i’m a mormon ( lds ), and you are wrong, we do believe JESUS is the SAVIOR of the world, HE is the only BEGOTTEN son of GOD..oh, and about KOLOB, we do not say GOD lives in KOLOB, the scriptures says, KOLOB is the first creation of GOD, is located near to the CELESTIAL KINGDOM, or the residence of GOD, and not were HE lives..people always say things without fundaments…GOD love us because we are HIS children, so if we want to know the truth, why we don’t ask HIM? ..HE will give you an answer for sure if you really want to know the truth.
Thanks Oscar. I stand corrected and apologize for the incorrect information. I think the real question at hand should not be what or where Kolob is, but the legitimacy of such ideas. This also leads to the legitimacy of the sources of these kinds of ideas. Your comment seems to suggest that God is not omnipresent, but almost says God is restricted to a specific location. But as you have seen here I’m not an expert at the Mormon faith. I am deleting the content of this post and may write later on as I have time about the heresy of adding to scripture .
