Answered prayer
This morning I had one those really direct answers to prayer. I make notes sometimes before ever reading a devotion or scripture verse, especially if something is on my mind. So today I made a note that my spirit was troubled since Monday and really didn’t know why. Also noted that whatever the reason, if was a new lesson in trust or something I must confess that it pass quickly and not stand in the way of my relationship with Him. So the Neil Anderson devotion I read, Daily in Christ, was about discernment today and had this quote:
“When the Spirit sounds a warning, your mind may not be able to perceive what’s wrong. Have the courage to acknowledge that something is wrong when your spirit is troubled. Share what you are sensing with others, and ask the Lord for wisdom.”
Just as a note. Been really tired for about a week, have felt faint and been in a somewhat “blue” mood for a few days. I get a call from the doctor late this afternoon with the blood test results for the pre op tests on Monday. Turns out I am experiencing low potassium due to the blood pressure medication I take. Never told the doctor about these symptoms but looked up the symptoms to see if that explained some of the stuff going on lately and indeed it did….
The Lord is so gracious.

Blasphemy Challenge Faceoff
Several months ago, January to be exact, The Rationale Response Squad issued a Blasphemy Challenge where viewers at the ever popular UTube.com are encouraged to upload videos of themselves denying the Holy Spirit. Blasphemy Challenge
The number of views of this one clip is over 390,000 views. The number of videos posted number in the hundreds.
The following is a response by a group at www.soulsaver.de . Here viewers are encouraged to post videos of themselves professing their faith in Christ. The first guy who confesses Christ as his Savior bothers me but those that follow are good. A Blasphemy Challenge Response
If you are interested, ABC’s Nightline is airing a Blasphemy Challenge Faceoff on May 9th at 11:35 with evangelist Ray Comfort squaring off with the two creators of the Blasphemy Challenge.
What do you feel is the proper Christian community response?
Forgiveness
Mark 11:25 “Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions.
I found myself in the position of having let down my guard recently and quite stupidly stepped into sin. Of course all sin is stupid if you ask me. What disturbed me so much was those little bells didn’t go off. Worse yet I got others in my family involved in that sin.
Last night I went to my bookshelf and pulled out a book I reference from time to time called The Bondage Breaker by Neil T. Anderson. I asked the Lord to reveal any other sins that I may have conveniently glossed over or ignored. Then as I proceeded to ask for His forgiveness for this sin, the Spirit began revealing people whom I have not forgiven.
And it just kept coming.
Anderson makes an astute observation of forgiveness: “Forgiveness is agreeing to live with the consequences of another person’s sin. Forgiveness is costly; we pay the price of the evil we forgive.”
As we approach Resurrection Day, remember that our Lord paid the price for our evil. Likewise He asks that we “Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.” Eph 4:32
